BASIC Bank Limited, formerly known as Bangladesh Small Industries and Commerce Bank Limited, was registered under the Companies Act of 1913 on August 2, 1988. Its operations commenced on January 21, 1989, governed by the Banking Companies Act of 1991. The Government of Bangladesh acquired 100 percent ownership of the bank on June 4, 1992, thereby establishing it as a state-owned institution.

BASIC Bank has recently launched a mobile application named "Magpie," tailored to facilitate banking transactions via the internet for its clientele. This app empowers BASIC Bank customers to execute a wide array of financial activities conveniently.

2. Password, PIN, and fingerprint-based login
3. Transaction history for account and card
4. Balance inquiry for account
5. Locate BASIC Bank branches and ATMs
6. Submit feedback/complaints within the app with screenshot attachments

Transfers and Transactions:

1. Fund transfers from account and card
2. Credit card payments from the account
3. Transfer funds to other banks (BEFTN and RTGS) from account and card
4. Pay credit card bills from other banks using your BASIC Bank account or card (BEFTN and RTGS)
5. Transfer funds to bKash and Nagad wallets from your account and card
6. Top-up airtime from your account and card
7. Make QR payments through your account and card

To register on Magpie, customers must possess an active customer account or an active debit/credit card with BASIC Bank.
